Do you like motorcycles and travelling without limits?
So get ready and have some advices, how to prepare cozy camp for night rest. Let’s look through the book “Lightweight Camping for Motorcycle Travel– Revised Edition“ and the issue „Hammock“.
“Hammock. When staying in a base camp for a few days, we like to bring our hammocks. We like to relax in them and read our books, listen to our music and sometimes take naps. Several different styles of hammocks are available.”
After a few years of motorcycle camping with economy fishnet hammocks, authors decided to move up to better-quality hammocks because they enjoy relaxing in their hammocks so much. Hammocks are very popular among backpackers. In fact, some backpackers prefer sleeping in hammocks with overhead tarps rather than in tents.
“Better is to choose hammock made from parachute nylon, they are more comfortable that the other materials (especially than fishnet hammocks).
The easiest way to tie a hammock to two trees is to use a pair of nylon hammock straps that can be purchased at any backpacker’s supply store. These straps have loops at one end that allow you to lasso them around a tree. They also have loops spaced about every ten inches that allow you to attach your hammock in a comfortable position regardless of the distance between two trees.
When initially looking for a good campsite in a campground, we look for a site that has three trees positioned as corners of a triangle. This configuration allows us to tie the heads of each hammock to one tree and the foot to separate trees. When our hammocks are set up in this manner, we are close enough to have quiet conversations yet we have space to rock our separate hammocks if we so desire.”
So let’s be inspired for the best moments in this summer. Please feel free to write us (firstname.lastname@example.org) more about your ideas for travelling or living in a hammock!
